Pastor Troy Barnett was born on May 24, 1971 in Jacksonville, North Carolina to Alonza and Sophia Barnett. He has 3 brothers, Alonza II, Ivan, and Sean. He was baptized in Jesus name and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 9. He rededicated his life to Christ in his senior year in college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. UNC-CH is where Elder Barnett double majored in Political Science and Sociology and was also a starting Defensive Lineman on the football team.
Upon graduation, in 1994, he signed a free agent contract with the New England Patriots where he became a starter in his second year. He then moved on to finish his NFL career with the Washington Redskins. After retiring from the NFL, he worked in the IT Department at Reebok International Ltd. in Canton, Massachusetts. All along, God was preparing Elder Barnett for the ministry and in 1998 he accepted the call of God.
While in Massachusetts he was under the pastoralship of Pastor Hurshel Langham at Greater Faithful Apostolic Ministries. Pastor Langham’s leadership, guidance and tutelage have had a significant impact on Elder Barnett’s growth in God.
After 13 years under Pastor Langham’s leadership, God moved him to Baltimore, MD to continue his growth in the ministry. He is served as District Elder at the Refuge Way of the Cross Church, then pastured by Bishop Leroy H. Cannady the prelate of the Way of the Cross Churches International and founder of Refuge Way of the Cross Church in Baltimore, MD. Elder Barnett was ordained under Bishop Cannady’s ministry and continues to strive for higher heights and deeper depths in the ministry of God.

He has been married since 1994 to Missionary Tiffany Barnett and they have two beautiful, saved daughters, Tiana and Taylor Barnett. They live in Middle River, MD where Elder Barnett is a Director of HR Technology and Process at Under Armour in downtown Baltimore and Missionary Barnett, who has her Masters Degree in Education, is a Principal at Zion Christian Academy in Baltimore.
